Many years after the production of the CRX ceased, Honda has recently showcased the new concept CR-Z. CR-Z is the acronym for Compact Renaissance Zero. Its design borrows some elements from the previous CRX combined with futuristic styling and advanced hybrid technology.

The design concept features an oversized front grille with air-vents on each side, LED headlights, aerodynamic & slim door mirrors and large 19" wheels. Its tail is high with split level glass, shallow rake of roof and kamm-style tail which brings back memories of the CRX.

The CR-Z cockpit is spacious with cutting-edge dash and meter clusters beautifully encased in a glass art piece. Hopefully, this makes it to the production model.

The CR-Z's designers, Mr Tetsuji & Yosuke, said that they were inspired to create a lightweight hybrid sportscar which is fun to drive & minimises damage inflicted on the environment. Honda President & CEO recently announced that the CR-Z will be available by end 2010.
